Training
The Office of Equal Opportunity & Sexual Harassment / Title IX Compliance (OEOSH/TC) provides a variety of standard and customized training programs to help faculty, staff and students understand, prevent and respond to discrimination, harassment and equity in work and academic environments. We highlight the latest campus and system-wide trends and provide information related to relevant policies and procedures regarding discrimination and harassment.
The training workshops offered by the OEOSH/TC are open to all campus members and departments.
Training Formats
The OEOSH/TC training program includes a diversified design to accommodate the learning styles, needs and schedules of all campus community members. The offered formats include:
-
Instructor-Led Training (ILT): Our interactive ILT is a multi-sensory and multi-style experience that stimulates and appeals to participants' various learning styles. Through the use of language, images, powerful exercises and technology, the Instructor delivers clear and meaningful guidance on the recognition and response to equal opportunity issues in the work and academic environments.
-
Online Training: This interactive training is available through the new Learning Management System (LMS). The benefit of this training format is that the training is available at anytime, and the participant does not need to complete the course in a single session. The participant can return to the site at different times and on multiple occasions, and the system will bookmark the attendee’s progress until the course is complete.
Onsite Training: Let us bring our training programs to your worksite or classroom. We can deliver one of our standardized courses or a customized program to meet your needs. Please contact the OEOSH/TC to further discuss your training request and schedule an appointment.
Life Theatre: Life Theatre uses professional actors to dramatize real life scenarios that illustrate both overt and subtle forms of sexual harassment. After the short plays are performed, the facilitator stops the action. Participants then have the opportunity to interact with the actors by asking questions, giving advice, and agreeing or disagreeing with the behaviors presented. The actors remain in character when responding which creates lively discussion between the audience and the performers.
Please view our quarterly schedule of the courses, which includes descriptions, location and dates and times of the courses, as well as instructions on how to register.
